Marine Deck & Bimini Solar Arrays

Traditional glass solar panels are heavy and vulnerable to rig stress. Layersgallerypilt engineers custom-molded, walkable solar matrices using solid copper-foundation SunPower Maxeon cells encapsulated in non-skid marine polymers.

Key Technological Innovations

Our solar solutions are specifically optimized for dynamic ocean environments where shade from rigging, sail shadows, and high temperatures drastically reduce standard panel output.

1. Walkable ETFE Non-Skid Surface

Constructed with high-transmittance ETFE (Ethylene Tetrafluoroethylene) polymer coatings textured with micro-pyramids. This provides non-slip footing for crew while enhancing light absorption at acute sun angles during morning and evening sailing hours.

2. Bypass Diodes Per Cell Column

Unlike conventional land-based solar panels that drop 50% power when a single shadow hits the surface, our marine panels feature isolated diode bypass sub-string channels. Shadowing from a boom or staysail only isolates the affected cells, allowing the rest of the array to produce maximum current.

3. Multi-Channel Smart MPPT Architecture

We pair each solar zone with dedicated ultra-fast Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) charge controllers using CAN-bus communications to push charge directly into 48V main power banks.
